Our tissues conform to cultural influences, and these influences lead us to inhabit the body in a specific but not natural way.

We are unfreezing centuries of being shamed, controlled, gaslit and rationalized.

It is time for us to source from our internal wellspring - to WAKE UP the Beauty within us.

We do this by slowing down into the natural body and resynchronizing with the subtle rhythms of Life and that which is Greater Than Us.

In this way we can enter another dimension of reality - a dimension in which we deepen into Trust, Acceptance and Love for Ourselves.

It is a dimension in which our inner colonizer must submit to Nature and Life itself.

It is the Beauty Way.

Rites of Passage ceremonies are imperative to our

Rites of Passage ceremonies are imperative to our human existence - to mark and commemorate moments in time when something old within us is dying, and something new within us is being born.

Cross-culturally, Rites of Passage ceremonies have a specific construct - to carry the initiate through from an old way of life into a new way of life.

As Rites of Passage ceremonies are re-membered within the collective, it is important that we consider this: In the past, within Living Cultures - when a rite of passage ceremony was complete, the initiate was welcomed back into a COMMUNITY - and that community saw and held the initiate as someone *new* as *newly born* to new privileges AND responsibilities.

This collective HOLDING of the initiate - is what helped to shift the LIFE for the initiate - from the old into the new.

YES to us offering Rites of Passage ceremonies for each other, to mark time. YES to us offering RItes of Passage ceremonies for our teenage children. AND........ it is not enough to have a beautiful, glorious ceremony IF we as adults are not willing to shift and change, to support our youth (to support each other) - to shift and change.

The community around the initiated must see and hold the initiate in a NEW WAY in daily life - in order for Rites of Passage ceremonies to be “effective” - in their original intent (which is to mature the Culture).

This day-to-day work is less ‘sexy’ and more messy than the Rites of Passage ceremonies themselves. But the day-to-day work is how we shift CULTURE and create a new, collective Living Culture for ourselves and the generations to come.

Instead of calling it “postpartum psychosis,”

Instead of calling it “postpartum psychosis,” let’s call it by its proper name: COMMUNITY PSYCHOSIS.

Instead of pathologizing Mothers - understand it is the CULTURE that is pathological.

The *vast majority* of the time, Mothers experiencing “postpartum psychosis” or any other “perinatal mood disorder,” are UNDER - NOURISHED on multiple levels and dimensions (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually). And they are UNDER - NOURISHED because the community has forgotten their role and responsibility to the caretaking of Mothers.

Integral, intensive, postpartum care - offered traditionally and cross-culturally to postpartum Mothers - is not entirely altruistic in nature.

The community has always offered this intensive care to postpartum Mothers, because the community is DEPENDENT upon Mothers’ long-term health.

The community supports Mothers so intensively, so that Mothers can support the community so intensively through RAISING THE NEXT GENERATION.

Our symptoms (in general, and specifically as Mothers) are messengers. Saying that a postpartum Mother is in “psychosis,” abdicates her community from their responsibility to HER. The community has forgotten that their health / humanity’s health is contingent upon Mothers’ health. THIS is psychotic. THIS is community psychosis.

May we remember and claim our rightful role as Mothers. May we center our own needs as Mothers. May humanity wake up to the Truth of reciprocity: that my health is your health and your health is my health.

As my daughter has been growing up and has now entered her teen years - I have evolved, my Mothering has evolved.

I have shared here about the devastation I have experienced by the LACK OF SUPPORT for teens and for parents of teens over the past couple of years.... and have created a couple beautiful offerings for teens and their families from this heartbreak.

Becoming Who Our Teens Need Us To Be.

This is a FREE, Roundtable Conversation with myself and 3 other Mothers of tweens, teens and adult children.

It is so intense and all-encompassing to parent littles. AND - in certain ways it is much easier than parenting older children. Our littles we can protect deeply within the shelter of our arms and our homes. This shifts greatly as our children grow.

We need to re-member how to STAY IN CONNECTION with our older children, so that we can rightfully usher them into young adulthood.

“Is it ok to cry in front of my baby?”

A question asked during Physiologic Baby Care Course - and my response.

For our children to be able to embody the full range of THEIR human experience, we need to embody OUR full range of our human experience.

It is imperative to have the conscious awareness of the absolute dysfunction of the systems, the empire we live under. And — it is also imperative to be able to root into Trust that Life is unfolding for not only our individual highest good - but also the collective highest good.
