Amy is a full spectrum birthworker and body based trauma treatment specialist, offering reproductive consultation and support from conception throughout the primal continuum, Amy’s work informed by attachment theory and delivered through a trauma sensitive lens focusing on parallel personal agency within a safe relationship. Amy centres the birthing person and emphasizes choice making, present moment awareness, taking effective action, deep listening and attunement. Amy is schooled in the wise women’s way of birth and has learned from elder midwives and birth professionals on the inherent wisdom of physiological birth. Amy is certified as an Innate postpartum care provider which brings forth the wisdom of intact cultures from around the world. The innate traditions model of care centres care around the birthing person, understanding that if the birthing person is well the baby will be well. Amy offers consultation, community education and in person or virtual services for prenatal, birth, postpartum and any process within the reproductive spectrum.
Amy is committed to queer reproductive justice and supports all birthing peoples’ human rights to not have children using safe birth control, abortion or abstinence, to have children under conditions chosen by the birthing person and to parent children in safe and healthy environment. Amy identifies as queer and uses pronouns she/they and is a white second generation Canadian born to Irish immigrants. Amy lives in works in Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe the wendat and the haudenosaunee.
